Experience

Prior to coming to Opti-Script in February 2006, Sharon was a hospital transcription manager of a centralized transcription department of 90+ employees. Her first “transcription” experience was in college at a large hospital, handwriting operative reports in a log book—a precursor to digital documentation. Additionally, Sharon spent 5 years teaching at two NC community colleges: medical office administration, transcription, and coding. From her first day at Opti-Script, it has been her mission to ensure that service delivery and document quality met the high standards she expected as a hospital manager.

Personal

In her free time, Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her 4 grandchildren, playing the piano, decorating (and redecorating) her home, and listening to music.

Stacy has worked with Opti-Script since March 1997. She has 22 years of industry experience and is primarily responsible for managing the company’s team of Healthcare Documentation Specialists. She manages turnaround times and customer service needs of our clients and provides support to other members of our team.

Personal

Stacy has been happily married to her husband, Corey, since 1993. They have many nieces and nephews and enjoy watching their sporting activities and plays. She also enjoys baking, gardening, traveling, and watching movies.

  • 37 years’ experience in medical documentation in various settings, including multispecialty clinics, acute care facilities, Air Force medical center, psychiatric hospital, and trauma centers
  • Began as a medical transcriptionist and advanced to recruiting, training, educator, and quality assurance
  • Presented educational sessions on Quality Assurance, Cancer Classifications, Legislative issues relating to Medical Transcription, Effective Research, Successful Interviewing, and Alternative Careers at symposia and annual AHDI conferences.
  • Wrote an article, “A New Set of Shoes for MTs: Alternative Career Ideas” published in Advance for Health Care Professionals
  • Past secretary, vice-president, president, and delegate of local AHDI chapters and OWVAMT regional association
  • Symposium chair for multiple continuing education conferences

Personal

Sandy has been married to her husband Bob for 42 years. She traveled extensively while he was in the Air Force. Currently, she lives in Ohio close to her 2 sons and 5 grandchildren. She loves to knit, cook, go antiquing, and spend time with family. 

Billy

Billy Allred

Director of IT/Business Development

Experience

With over 20 years of IT experience in several different market sectors, Billy brings a wealth of technical know-how and business sense to our company. Prior to coming to Opti-Script in March 2014, he was an IT Director at a small community bank in central PA. Billy is also an elected Township Supervisor in the township where he resides and serves as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher in his church.

Personal

Billy is an avid hunter and fisherman once the chores are complete on his small farmette where he and his family raise small numbers of nearly every type of farm animal.  He also enjoys hiking, sports and politics.
